What if I told you that there was a popsicle out there that could:
- calm your kids down after school but boost their energy;
- optimize their learning by fuelling the memory centres in their brain;
- keep their immune system strong to fight off illnesses; and
- taste delicious!
You would say:
Cristina -- you're a genius. Can I pay you a million dollars for that recipe?
And I would say:
Because your kid is amazing and deserves the best, I'm going to give it to you for free!!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or ½ cup coconut cream and ½ cup unsweetened almond milk)
- 1 large banana
- ½ cup berries (blueberries, raspberries, strawberries or a mix)
- ¼ cup unsweetened shredded coconut
- 1 tbsp raw cacao
- 1 tspn cinnamon;
- 1/2 tspn of vanilla extract optional
Blend in high speed blender. Pour into BPA-free ice lollie (or popsicle holders). Freeze overnight and then to pop them out easily from the container just run under hot water for a few seconds.
DEAD EASY.
These popsicles are PERFECT now that the weather is getting hot, humid and sticky. My girls LOVE them! And with my eldest on antibiotics, this is a no-brainer way of getting some extra antioxidants in her, without any of the inflammatory nasties.
The banana gives it all the sweetness we need, but if you need to wean your children into sugar-free living, you could add a bit of maple syrup and the next time you make them, reduce the amount a little.
Want to know how these popsicles make your children healthy, calm geniuses?
- Bananas are rich in potassium, which is great for the kidneys; and magnesium which is nature's muscle relaxant;
- Berries are super high in anthocyanidins which fuel the memory and learning centres in our brain;
- Cinnamon is very powerful anti-inflammatory that helps the body fight infection and repair damage.
Isn't nature amazing for giving us all these incredible whole foods and spices?
TRADE UP from your store-bought popsicle and make room in the freezer for this superfood snack, guaranteed to do ALL KINDS OF GOOD THINGS for your children.
