Detox & Treat Eczema with Castor Oil

This is my last post on detoxing and I wanted to talk to you about CASTOR OIL. I started using castor oil a few years ago to treat my daughter's eczema. My daughter's flare ups are tied to wheat and sugar intake.  All it takes is one birthday party and she's scratching away all night.

I mix a dollop of castor oil with a few drops of pure lavender oil and apply it on her affected areas before bed and in the morning before school.  I repeat twice a day until she's better. This remedy is more effective than any eczema cream I've ever used to reduce the itching and soothe the angry, red, dry patches.  If you're an eczema sufferer, do try this castor oil remedy and give me your feedback.

Here's why castor oil is such a must for your detox toolkit (and why I suspect it works so well when treating autoimmune skin conditions, like eczema):

Castor oil supports our immune system.  How?

Lymphatic congestion is a major factor leading to inflammation and disease. But when castor oil is absorbed through your skin,  your lymphocyte count increases  (lymphocytes are your disease-fighting cells).

Increased lymphocytes speed up the removal of toxins from your tissues, which promotes healing.

So, if you don't feel like spending a fortune in lymphatic drainage massages - why don't you try treating yourself to a hot castor oil pack?

If you're on a detox or digestive healing programme, you're going to want to do this 3x a week.

I buy a complete pack from iherb.com that looks like this.  (HK folk - you can also get castor oil from Just Green).

Castor oil packs are also great for those of you out there with painful periods, uterine fibroids & ovarian cysts (non-cancerous).

We'll be talking hormones next time on Thrive.  And hey! Hormones are not just a girl thing.  Hormone issues are intimately and inextricably tied with stress.  So, if you've got stress in your life (who doesn't!??!), please stay tuned.
